Family Care Services (FCS) is a local human services nonprofit agency founded right here in Franklin County in 1977 located at 4385 Edenville Road in Chambersburg. The mission at the beginning was to provide respite care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a family setting. Soon thereafter, clients were placed long-term using the same model. Our mission has always been to help families. 

We’ve expanded over the years to provide a greater variety of services to many types of individuals and families. Our biggest program is for adults diagnosed with intellectual and developmental disabilities. These adults receive Life Sharing services in private residential homes where they are supported to be as independent as they want and to live their best lives. We also provide Foster Care and Adoption/Permanency Services to children and teens. We are an affiliate of the Statewide Adoption and Permanency Network (SWAN). Family Based Mental Health Services are provided to families in their homes as well.
