The Foundry Art Market will leave its Main Street home for the past 8 years and move to 54 Lincoln Way West this spring.  “We loved our location at Queen and Main,” said Foundry artist Anne Finucane, “but we look forward to an exciting new chapter with a location closer to the Square, and across from the site of one of downtown’s most exciting new projects: the amphitheater that will be constructed by Downtown Chambersburg Inc. and being within sight of the North Square Farmers Market will be an asset as well!”

Foundry member artists will spend March and early April moving and recreating their gallery, with a soft opening in mid-April and a ribbon cutting/grand opening in early May.

Res/Com Management, LLC is making modifications to the new space that include restoration of the original tin ceiling and exposed brick along with new hardwood floors. “We are thrilled to complete this location with the addition of another arts organization in our downtown community,” said Nathan Rotz, President and CEO of Res/Com Management.

The Foundry joins Mar-Le-Nie’ Dance Studio at 54 Lincoln Way West, which relocated last May after the conversion of 5,000 square feet of commercial/retail space. The new Foundry home fills the remaining 2,250 square feet of space. The new Foundry Art Market site paired with the Amphitheater project are two catalyst projects on Lincoln Way West encouraging further revitalization of this downtown corridor.

“We are grateful to the leadership of the Downtown Chambersburg Inc. Board of Directors and the Foundry Art Market in making a decision that allows art to take a lead in growing Lincoln Way West. The Foundry Art Market joins Mar-Le-Nie Dance Studios at 54 Lincoln Way West, a RES/COM property, and we are grateful to RES/COM for embracing the arts at this property. Revitalization of the Lincoln Way West downtown corridor is crucial to further success of our downtown,” said Sam Thrush, president of Downtown Chambersburg Inc.

The artist cooperative was a Downtown Chambersburg Inc. initiative that opened in October 2015.  Today the cooperative supports 28 members and provides gallery space featuring a wide variety of media and styles for purchase in a retail space. In addition, the Foundry is able to reach a larger audience with their ecommerce platform for artists to sell their creations online through the Foundry.  Interested artists can learn more about joining the Foundry by visiting the art co-op’s website at foundryartmarket.com .
