Leadership Franklin County Youth Program Seeks Candidates for 2025-2026 Class
Leadership Franklin County (LFC) Youth, a program by the Greater Chambersburg Chamber Foundation, is now accepting applications from current ninth-grade students across Franklin County for its 2025-2026 leadership development course.
LFC Youth is sponsored by Wilson College and is a unique opportunity for youth to develop leadership skills. Students from public, private or homeschool curriculums are encouraged to apply for this ten-month course that will begin in September 2025.
Program participants will develop leadership skills, explore career paths and learn about nonprofit and community organizations. With a curriculum based on “The Five Practices of Exemplary Student Leadership,” students will engage in activities focused on career exploration, diversity and inclusion, service learning and public speaking.
Applications for LFC Youth are due by February 3, 2025, and require two reference letters and an interview as part of the competitive selection process. There is no cost to enroll in the program.
“The Chamber Foundation and Wilson College continue to partner to provide this unique leadership development experience at no expense to area students,” said Virginia Harriger, executive director of the Chamber Foundation. “The LFC Youth program focuses on helping to build leadership skills in our area youth, while helping to create opportunities to nurture collaboration, teamwork and community awareness.”
Prospective applicants are invited to attend a virtual information session on Tuesday, December 3 at 6 p.m. via Zoom. To register for the information session, visit CVBAlliance.org/Events.
