In 2010, Rich and Kim Capozzi embarked on a delightful journey that transformed their lives and the wine scene in Pennsylvania. It all started with a simple Groupon that sparked their interest in personal winemaking. Over the years, the couple experimented with various techniques and wine varietals, sharing their creations with family and friends. This passion eventually blossomed into the creation of Screaming Bambino Cellars, a name inspired by a cherished family photo of Rich’s father, Rich Sr. (fondly known as Pap), and his twin brother, Bob.

The Formation of Screaming Bambino Cellars

Fast forward to 2022, the Capozzis took a significant step by officially forming Screaming Bambino Cellars. In a move that further cemented their presence in the local wine industry, they acquired the popular JanZell Wines in August of the same year. Their exquisite wines and ciders can now be found at Boyer Cellars, located at 405 Boyer Nursery Road in Biglerville, where Screaming Bambino Cellars serves as the exclusive winemaker.

In November 2023, the Capozzis expanded their reach by opening a new location, Screaming Bambino Vino, in downtown Chambersburg. Situated at 47D N. Main Street, this quaint winetasting bar and retail establishment offers an inviting atmosphere and a full range of wines and hard ciders, promising a unique experience for every visitor.

Screaming Bambino Vino: A Cozy Retreat

Screaming Bambino Vino in Chambersburg is a cozy and inviting space, perfect for patrons who love to BYOF (Bring Your Own Food). Its proximity to the Rosedale Parking lot and nearby dining options adds a fun twist to the traditional BYOB concept. Lovingly referred to as “The Vino,” this location welcomes guests during the following hours:

  • Thursdays: 4 to 8 p.m.
  • Fridays: 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Saturdays (during farmers market season): 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Sundays: 12 to 5 p.m.
Boyer Cellars: A Picturesque Escape

The Boyer Cellars venue is set amidst the serene Boyer Nursery and Orchards property, offering a picturesque location with a laid-back vibe. Here, Screaming Bambino Cellars takes full advantage of the beautiful surroundings, providing wood-fired pizzas and other delicious treats while hosting musical entertainment and special events. The current hours of operation are:

  • Fridays: 2 to 8 p.m.
  • Saturdays: 12 to 7 p.m.
  • Sundays: 12 to 5 p.m.
