Area professionals interested in enhancing their leadership skills and community knowledge are encouraged to apply for the competitive Leadership Franklin County (LFC) Community program.

This nine-month leadership course is hosted by the Greater Chambersburg Chamber Foundation and is designed to offer training to professionals in the areas of leadership development, community needs and service opportunities with local nonprofits.

The LFC Community class meets monthly at various locations in Franklin County to receive instruction and engage with local business and community leaders.

“Leadership Franklin County helps to expose our students to the many aspects of the community that directly relates to the betterment of our region,” Virginia Harriger, executive director of the Chamber Foundation, said. “The programming is designed to empower students to get involved as it relates to community challenges and opportunities while building their professional network with our robust LFC faculty.”

The cost to participate in the program is $1,600 per student with a limited number of available scholarships provided by the LFC Alumni. The course begins in September 2025 with a two-day, team-building retreat followed by monthly sessions during the workday from October through May. Students can expect to receive leadership training, work in teams and expand their knowledge of Franklin County.

Applications are due by May 9, 2025, which will be followed by a competitive interview process.
